About Manor Texas

Manor with a population of just over 8500, is located 12 miles northeast of Austin in Travis County.   It was established in 1872 and was a hub for the Central Texas cotton industry. Fast-forward to the 21st century.  Manor is proud to be a hub for the high-tech industry, with Samsung and Applied Materials within its boundaries and Dell and Freescale Semiconductors in close proximity.

Manor Schools

Manor Independent School District  educates a diverse population of students from Austin Tx, Manor Tx and Elgin Tx; from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade including: over 9000 students at two high schools, three middle schools, nine elementary schools, and one alternative academy.

Austin Community College Elgin campus is located in close proximity and  offers day and evening classes for Associates Degrees and Professional Development Certifications.

Commuter Rail in Manor's Future ?

Travis County Commissioners in 2018 narrowly approved a study to examine financing for what would be known as the Green Line — a plan by the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority to add a 15-mile line from downtown Austin to Manor on the metro’s eastern fringe, the Austin Monitor reports. The line could even be extended another 12 miles to Elgin
